Integrator Advance

Enterprise marketing analytics · self‑serve insights · WCAG AA by default

How do you replace two legacy analytics tools with a single, scalable platform that teams love to use? I led Integrator Advance from abstract vendor wireframes to a unified, accessible, self‑serve experience—reducing navigation friction, speeding insight‑to‑action, and aligning design with engineering at scale.

Role & Scope

  • Role: Lead UX Designer (platform)
  • Timeline: Multi‑release initiative
  • Partners: Design, Analytics, Front‑end (Angular), Product
  • Surface area: Replacement for 2 legacy products; enterprise rollout

The Problem

Integrator Advance was built from the ground up to replace two aging marketing analytics products that had significant overlap but lacked modern scalability and usability. The goal was to create a unified, next-generation analytics platform that streamlined workflows, simplified data interactions, and improved accessibility for financial institutions.

However, early third-party wireframes were incomplete, lacked functional clarity, and did not account for real-world user workflows. Navigation complexity, unclear data interactions, and misalignment between teams made it difficult to create a seamless experience.

As the UX Design Lead, my goal was to transform these abstract concepts into a fully functional, user-centered platform while ensuring scalability, usability, and team alignment.

Constraints

  • Two legacy products to consolidate with differing data models and workflows.
  • Regulatory accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508).
  • Distributed stakeholders and competing roadmaps; limited migration windows.

The Challenge

Building a new analytics platform from the ground up meant solving major challenges:

  • Replacing two legacy products with a single, scalable solution.
  • Transforming high-level wireframes into real-world interfaces.
  • Designing a multi-tier navigation system for complex data structures.
  • Making data interactions more intuitive for marketing and analytics teams.
  • Aligning business, design, and development teams to ensure functional accuracy.

The Process

Audit & Benchmark

Audited vendor wireframes and live legacy flows; mapped usability gaps and benchmarked against leading analytics UIs to define target patterns.

Standardization & Accessibility

Defined a scalable multi‑tier navigation model and WCAG 2.2 AA‑compliant components (contrast, focus, keyboard) to improve access to insight.

Systemization & Component Library

Token‑driven components and a shared library ensured consistency; hierarchical navigation enabled fast drill‑down across complex datasets.

Testing & Iteration

Ran usability tests and a11y reviews (axe/contrast + keyboard‑only); iterated to simplify query‑building and data exploration.

Adoption & Rollout

Partnered with devs/analysts on Storybook docs, usage guidelines, and reviews to drive consistent adoption across teams.

Outcomes and Impact

  • Single Unified Product: Successfully replaced two aging systems with a scalable, modern platform.
  • Scalable Navigation System: Designed multi-tier navigation for complex data handling.
  • 50% Faster Data Access: Hierarchical navigation improved efficiency.
  • 80% Reduction in UI Issues: Standardized design minimized inconsistencies.
  • 5-Year Project Success: Oversaw UX from concept to feature-complete platform.
How we measured:
  • Data access: task timings in moderated tests for representative queries.
  • UI issues: quarterly audit of components vs. system specs.
  • Adoption: rollout milestones + training participation.

Key Takeaways

  • Led the design transformation of a complex analytics platform.
  • Created a multi-tier navigation system optimized for efficiency.
  • Aligned UX with business and development goals through collaboration.

What I’d Do Differently

I would have introduced design sprints earlier to speed up alignment between stakeholders and refine the platform faster.
